Keithley calls the 2450 the fourth generation of its SourceMeter line. It keeps the 2400's job, a four-quadrant source plus a 6½-digit meter in one box, and changes how you drive it. The front is a 5-inch capacitive color touchscreen with graphing, built-in help and a USB port for saving data and loading scripts. It adds 20 mV and 10 nA ranges, the 10 nA range on the rear triax inputs with 10 fA resolution, so it reaches lower currents than the 2400. It speaks SCPI, Keithley's TSP scripting language and a 2400 emulation mode, over GPIB, USB or Ethernet. It came after Keithley became a Tektronix company, and Tektronix still sells it. Watch for the 2450-NFP, a version built with no front panel at all.

The touchscreen is the 2450's main control and Keithley's manual says to use only fingers on it, so scratches or dead spots matter. The 2450-NFP has no front panel at all and can only be run from a computer.

We'd buy equiptek_labs' 2450 titled calibrated at $6,790 delivered, inside the $6,125–7,675 band, from a US test-equipment dealer, and ask for the certificate with its date and data. There are at least 83 for sale, nearly all from China resellers mostly asking about $5,780–7,500 delivered with watermarked stock photos (Aimevo, LEYPIN, Opkemixo, UWQGRI) shared across accounts, so the unit pictured may not be the one you get. Every listing here is used, and the three US dealers ask $6,548–7,529 delivered, a small premium for knowing who you're buying from. On any of them, ask for a short video tapping and swiping across the whole touchscreen, a photo of the model label to rule out a 2450-NFP with no front panel, and whether the test leads, USB cable and interlock connector are included. Skip hyyshop's $43,200 ask, about 6 times the median.
