Used signal generators

A signal generator makes a clean test signal at the frequency and level you set, with modulation if you need it, for aligning receivers, testing amplifiers and checking filters. The RF synthesizers here run from the kilohertz range up into the hundreds of megahertz or gigahertz. Used, ask for a check of the output level into a 50-ohm load on a meter or analyzer, at a few frequencies across the range. The frequency should settle with no error message. Look at the output connector for wear or a bent center pin, and ask whether the unit has ever had its output attenuator repaired.
